Mitch Cartwright, LPC
Strategic Growth and Operational Development Lead
Mitch Cartwright, LPC, serves as Strategic Growth and Operational Development Lead at Narrative Initiatives San Diego (NISD). In this role, he helps leadership and the Board translate organizational values into sustainable strategy, stronger systems and workflows, clear project plans, and measurable outcomes. His work supports NISD’s commitment to accessible, culturally responsive mental health care and experiential training in Narrative Therapy.

Mitch is also a Missouri-licensed professional counselor and founder of his private practice Heart Space Therapy, where he works with adults and adult relationships—including couples, family, friendship, peer, and workplace relationships—navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, life transitions, identity exploration, creative blocks, loneliness, and recurring relational patterns. His approach is relational, collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in Narrative Therapy and postmodern ideas. He believes meaningful change begins with dignity: people are not problems to be managed, and growth can emerge by honoring the wisdom in how people have made it this far. He provides virtual and phone therapy in Missouri and separate, nonclinical coaching nationwide.
