MFT Trainees

Each June we take on a select number of graduate students who have completed their first year of their MFT program. We hand-pick our trainees based on their experience, maturity, social location, interest in post-modern ideas and social justice,  and applicable skills from their previous work histories.

Past trainees, Elana and Rachel (USD MFT Program)

Each MFT Trainee completes a one-year Traineeship, as part of our Narrative Immersion Training™ model, in which they are able to practice and hone their clinical skills under the direct supervision and mentorship of a licensed therapist and/or AAMFT Supervision candidate, and within our multi-generational, extended community of Narrative Therapy practitioners. After completing their year with us, they will have gained enough hours of direct clinical experience to graduate from their Masters Program. This prepares them for graduation and a subsequent Associateship where they will gain a total of 3000 hours of clinical experience before licensure by the State of California.
